1. Qualifications
(A) Candidates must possess credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, (Agricultural Science is accepted in place of Biology for Agricultural Science Education and Agriculture Candidates only), at not more than two sittings in the SSCE (WAEC/NECO or GCE) or equivalent qualifications.
(B) Candidates must have taken the 2011 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and must have had a total score, not less than 180 (one hundred and eighty) in the relevant UTME subject combinations i.e. Use of English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science.
(C) Candidates for admission into Programmes in Faculty of Agriculture should possess at least five (5) O/L Credit Passes in SSCE (WAEC/NECO or GCE) or equivalent qualification to include Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics, English Language and any one of Economics, Geography or Physics. Credit pass in Physics is compulsory for candidates seeking admission into Home Economics or Fisheries & Aquaculture. For other programmes, at least a Pass in Physics is acceptable
(D) Candidates for admission into Agricultural Science Education should possess at least Five “O” Level Credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology (or Agricultural Science) Mathematics and any other subject.
(E) Candidates seeking admission into Home Economics Education must possess at least Five “O” Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry. Credit in Physics is not a requirement for candidates for admission into Agricultural Science and Home Economics Education.
2. METHOD OF APPLICATION
Interested candidates will be required to purchase the scratch card for N500.00 (Five hundred naira) and in addition pay the sum of N5.500.00 (Five thousand five hundred naira) only as administrative charge at any Branch of the following banks nationwide.
(i) Keystone Bank
(ii) Skye Bank,
(iii) Zenith Bank,
(iv) UBA PLC;
(v) First City Monument Bank PLC, (FCMB);
(vi) University of Uyo Micro Finance Bank
(vii) UniUyo Liaison office, Abuja – No. 15B Blantyre, Off Adetokumbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja
(viii) Liaison Office, Lagos-No.2 Modupe St; Off Kofoworole Crescent; Off Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.
With the scratch card, candidates should access and complete the University of Uyo 2011/2012 Pre-Degree Screening Form online at www.uniuyopume.org and scan their recent pass- port size photograph (with a red background) on the form. Candidates should also note that the same scratch card will be used to access their performance in the Pre-Degree Screening Exercise.
Candidates are required to come for the screening exercise with the following:
(i) A copy of the Pre-Degree ON-LINE form duly completed carrying the passport size photograph.
(ii) 2011 UTME Result Slip.
(iii) Two (2) recent passport-size colour photographs (with a red background) with the name and signature of the candidate written on the reverse side.
(iv) HB pencil, eraser and sharpener
No GSM handsets, calculators or any other extraneous materials should be brought into the screening hall.
VENUE: Candidates for the screening exercise are to report at the CBN Auditorium, University of Uyo (Town Campus) on SATURDAY, 28ST JANUARY 2012 at 8.00 A.M. for the screening exercise.
